Southern TOHOKU General Hospital

Our hospital was established on December 1, 1981. We have been designated as a regional cancer treatment hospital with 461 beds.
Our mission is "PRO VONO AEQUNOROSA," which means we are dedicated to our patients.
There is a Proton Therapy Center on our premises. Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) is recognized as a method for patients to receive treatment "without the need for an incision," without the need for admission to a hospital," and "with normal daily life." From October 2008 to December 2022, we have had more than 6,800 cases of PBT therapeutical experience. We provide Proton Beam Therapy combined with arterial injection chemotherapy or other treatments and try to expand the indicated PBT patient population and improve the effectiveness of the treatment.
Cancer treatment using "Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT)" has been covered by health insurance since June 2020. Our hospital has treated more than 170 people until the end of December 2022.
In addition, we have introduced radiation therapy equipment such as CyberKnife, Gamma Knife, and IMRT and are proactively working to acquire knowledge and skills.
